On June 3, 2020 at approximately 1410, Crystal Thiel, age 22 of Paducah, KY, was operating her car East on IC Avenue.
Michael Morgan, age 21 of Calvert City, KY, was walking East on IC Avenue approaching Reidland Road.
Crystal stated she was upset and was traveling faster than she should have, in addition to being distracted by adjusting the dial on her radio as she approached that intersection of IC Avenue with Reidland Road.
Michael heard the car approaching as he went to cross the roadway to walk inbound on Reidland Road fron IC Avenue.
He saw the car approaching, but did not realize how fast the car was going or that the operator was distracted.
As he crossed the road, Crystal saw him too late and struck him with the front of her car.
Michael was transported to the hospital by Mercy Ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained from the collision.
The vehicle was towed.
Crystal stated she was uninjured and refused medical treatment.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Reidland Farley Fire Department and Mercy Ambulance.
