Calvert City Police Report Multiple Arrests in Recent Incidents

(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) – The Calvert City Police Department has reported several arrests over the past two weeks stemming from various incidents throughout the city.

DUI Arrest at Love’s Travel Center

On September 30, officers responded to Love’s Travel Center on US 62 after a white transit van struck a light pole. When police arrived, the driver’s account of the incident was inconsistent, and officers observed that he appeared unbalanced and was slurring his speech.

Following an investigation, Tommy Mann, 68, of Florissant, Missouri, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense.

Drug Charges Following Apartment Complaint

Three days later, on October 3, an officer was dispatched to Calvert City Apartments on Cedar Street after residents reported smelling marijuana. The resident of the apartment in question admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day.

A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of James R. Parks, 62, of Calvert City. Parks was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Traffic Stop Leads to Warrant Arrest

On October 4, an officer conducting patrol on US 62 near the AmeriVu Inn spotted a vehicle whose registered owner was known to have a suspended license and active warrants. After stopping the vehicle and confirming the driver’s identity, Mark C. Coppage, 24, of Benton, was taken into custody.

Coppage was served with two Daviess County warrants and one Ohio County warrant, all for non-payment of court costs, fines, or fees. He was additionally charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.

Warrant Served at Local Business

Most recently, on October 7, officers received information that a person with an active warrant was working at a business in Calvert City. Police responded to the Industrial Parkway location and located the individual.

Joshua Tidwell, 37, of Mayfield, was arrested and served with a Marshall County warrant for first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree terroristic threatening.

All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
