
(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Health Department will convene its Board of Health meeting on October 23 at 5:30 p.m., with the public invited to attend.
Board Chairman Dr. Roger Lampkin will call the meeting to order and lead members through an extensive agenda that includes financial matters, strategic planning updates, and the selection of 2026 board officers.
Among the key items for consideration, the board will review the FY 2024-2025 Financial Audit Report, including both the MCHD Operational Report and Taxing District Report, both requiring board votes. Members will also vote on revised budgets for FY 2026 for both the taxing district and operating expenses.
Finance Administrator Cathy Thompson will present the financial report along with proposed amendments, addendums, write-offs, and the revised budgets.
The board will elect officers for 2026 and seek volunteers for the Employee Annual Awards selection committee.
Shay Glover is scheduled to provide updates on the agency’s Strategic Plan, performance metrics, and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
The Director’s Report will cover a wide range of topics, including general updates, board nominations, CD investments, community health assessments, reaccreditation efforts, internship programs, and community engagement activities from 2025. The director will also address new policy considerations regarding artificial intelligence and phone system updates.
The board is expected to approve meeting dates for 2026, tentatively scheduled for January 22, April 23, June 25, and October 22.
