Two Injured After Van Hydroplanes, Strikes Tree in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — Two Paducah residents were hospitalized Saturday night following a single-vehicle crash that left them trapped inside their vehicle.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision near the intersection of Said Road and Greenfield Drive at approximately 8:50 p.m. on October 25, 2025.

According to preliminary investigations, Alaina Dowell was driving a gray 2007 Dodge passenger van on Said Road when the vehicle hydroplaned and left the roadway. John Cureau was riding as a passenger at the time of the crash.

The van came to rest on its passenger side against a tree, trapping both occupants inside. The Reidland Farley Fire Department responded to the scene and successfully extricated Dowell and Cureau from the wreckage.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Reidland Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS, and Stinnet’s Towing.
