(PADUCAH, Ky.) — A 54-year-old Grand Rivers man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing his way into a Paducah apartment at gunpoint while disguised with makeup, police say.

Martin J. Biehle Jr. was arrested Tuesday evening in connection with a home invasion that occurred around 8:37 p.m. in the 3000 block of Clay Street.

According to the Paducah Police Department, a couple returning to their apartment was confronted by a man who caught the door behind them as they entered. The suspect, who appeared to be a Black male, brandished a handgun and told the victims he wanted to talk to them, police said.

The situation escalated when the armed man placed the gun against the male victim’s head, prompting a physical struggle. During the altercation, the suspect was struck in the face and lost control of the weapon. The male victim seized the gun and ordered the intruder to leave, at which point the suspect fled the scene.

Detectives investigating the incident identified Biehle as the suspect. According to police, Biehle had used makeup to darken his exposed skin in an apparent attempt to conceal his identity.

Investigators also discovered that the female victim had received numerous messages from Biehle in violation of an active Kentucky Protection Order. Biehle is also a defendant in a previous stalking case involving the same victim, police said.

Biehle was taken into custody at his Grand Rivers residence without incident. He faces charges including first-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree stalking, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, intimidating a participant in a legal process, and violations of conditions of release.

The investigation is ongoing.
