(MURRAY, Ky.) – The Marshall County Lady Marshals punched their ticket to the KHSAA Region One Volleyball Tournament semifinals with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Ballard Memorial on Monday night at Jeffrey Gymnasium.
Marshall County took the match with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 24-26, and 25-17, improving their season record to 20-5.
The Lady Marshals dominated the first two sets, building momentum with commanding wins. Ballard Memorial showed resilience in the third set, staving off elimination with a 26-24 victory to extend the match. However, Marshall County regrouped and closed out the fourth set decisively, 25-17, to seal the win.
With the victory, Marshall County advances to face top-seeded McCracken County (29-7) in the semifinal round. The match is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:20 p.m., at Jeffrey Gymnasium at Calloway County High School. These two teams have not met this season.
