Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Reports Dozens of Arrests in October

(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office handled numerous arrests throughout October 2025, ranging from traffic violations to serious felony charges, according to recent reports from the department.

DUI and Traffic Incidents

Multiple individuals were arrested on DUI-related charges during the month. On October 26, Dalton Pea, 26, of Benton was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence (first offense), possession of an open alcoholic beverage, and other traffic offenses after deputies responded to a single-vehicle injury accident.

Kerie Jones, 32, of Benton was arrested October 11 after her vehicle was stopped on Main Street in Benton. She was charged with improper lane usage and operating under the influence of alcohol.

William Gividen, 65, of Hardin was arrested October 14 following a single-vehicle injury accident on Aurora Highway. He faces charges of operating under the influence (second offense) and no insurance.

In a more serious incident on October 19, Johnathan Day, 27, of Calvert City was arrested after a collision on Highway 124. Deputies charged him with wanton endangerment first degree, operating under the influence, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Day reportedly admitted to consuming altering substances while driving.

James Wurth, 47, of Benton was arrested October 22 after a single-vehicle accident and charged with operating under the influence of a controlled substance (third offense) and driving on a DUI-suspended license (second offense).

Patrick Cowgill, 58, of Clarksville, Tennessee was arrested October 27 after a traffic stop on Main Street in Benton revealed an outstanding warrant from Paris, Tennessee. He was charged as a fugitive from justice along with driving on a DUI-suspended license, operating without an interlock device, expired registration, no insurance, and other traffic offenses.

Assault and Disturbance Cases

Several assault arrests were made throughout the month. On October 6, Crescentia Egner, 41, of Benton was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance on Mt. Moriah Road. She was charged with assault fourth degree and terroristic threatening third degree.

Joshua Burrow, 45, of Benton was arrested October 9 and charged with assault fourth degree.

Ray Hale, 53, of Gilbertsville was arrested October 15 on a criminal complaint warrant for assault fourth degree.

David Carmona, 38, of Calvert City was arrested October 24 and charged with assault fourth degree and strangulation second degree.

Nicholas Jones, 35, of Benton was arrested October 27 for assault fourth degree following a disturbance report at a local business. The same day, Cassandra Matherne, 30, of Calvert City was arrested on similar charges after deputies responded to a disturbance on Calvert City Road.

Teresa Jones, 53, of Calvert City faced multiple charges including alcohol intoxication in a public place, terroristic threatening, and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a disturbance on Gilbertsville Highway on October 26.

Drug and Theft-Related Arrests

Robin Gambino, 59, of Benton was arrested October 13 on an indictment warrant for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) issued out of Marshall Circuit Court.

James Sorrells, 50, of Benton was arrested October 7 on an indictment warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance first degree and promoting contraband first degree.

On October 26, deputies received a report of items stolen from a business in the Draffenville area. Deputies identified and located the subject and charged him with theft by unlawful taking.

Madison Martin, 20, of Paducah was arrested October 1 when deputies responded to a disturbance at a business in the Draffenville area. She was charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant Services and Compliance Violations

Multiple individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants throughout October. Timisha Brandon, 40, of Benton was arrested October 28 and served a bench warrant from Marshall Circuit Court for failure to appear.

Corey Warford, 30, of Hardin was arrested October 23 on a bench warrant for probation violation issued out of Marshall Circuit Court.

Phayvanh Mountry, 45, of LaVergne, Tennessee was arrested October 22 and served a bench warrant from Logan County Circuit Court for failure to appear.

Burton Stephens, 44, of an unknown address, was arrested October 21 on a bench warrant from Marshall District Court for failure to appear.

Kiesha Shafer, 35, of East Jordan, Michigan was arrested October 19 on a bench warrant charging her with probation violation.

Alma Whited, 50, of Paris, Tennessee was arrested October 15 when deputies located her at a residence on Village Road in Marshall County. She had outstanding warrants from Missouri and was charged as a fugitive from justice.

Michael Melton, 52, of Gilbertsville was arrested October 9 after a traffic stop on Howards Grove Road. He was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license and other traffic offenses. Melton was also served several warrants: a parole violation warrant, a bench warrant for failure to appear, and an indictment warrant for bail jumping first degree and persistent felony offender first degree, all issued out of Marshall Circuit Court.

Jessica Stamper, 37, of Benton was arrested October 9 on multiple warrants including failure to appear, theft of identity, operating on a suspended or revoked license, no insurance, no registration, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, bail jumping first degree, and persistent felony offender first degree.

Amos Spells, 52, of Hardin was arrested October 9 for failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements after it was discovered he had moved from Florida to Kentucky without properly registering.

Lance Wadgers, 43, of Calvert City was arrested October 7 on an indictment warrant charging him with receiving stolen property ($1,000-$10,000), operating under the influence (second offense), operating on a suspended license, and persistent felony offender first degree.

John Kimberlin, 44, of Gilbertsville was arrested October 5 after a traffic stop on US Highway 62. He was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, display of an illegal or altered registration plate, and other traffic violations.

Susan Knapp, 42, of Gilbertsville was arrested October 3 and served a bench warrant from McCracken District Court for failure to appear.

Draven Coppock, 24, of Sandy Hook was arrested October 1 when it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from Ohio. He was charged as a fugitive from justice.

Trespassing and Property Crimes

Stacy Clark, 49, of Hardin was arrested October 7 and charged with trespassing first degree when she was located on Harlan Lane after previously being told not to be on the property.

Dale Gould, 61, who claimed to be homeless, was charged with criminal trespassing third degree on October 26 after deputies responded to reports of someone looking in car windows on a property along Highway 68. Deputies were provided security camera footage and located Gould in the area a short time later.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate various incidents and encourages residents to report suspicious activity.
