
(BENTON, Ky.) — After more than two decades dedicated to protecting and serving the community, Carl Lovett has retired from law enforcement, officials announced this week.
Lovett’s career spanned 22 years across multiple law enforcement agencies and roles throughout Marshall County and Kentucky. He began his career with Kentucky Motor Vehicle Enforcement, where he served for five years before joining Marshall County Court Security.
During his decade-long tenure with Court Security, Lovett ensured the safety of judges, court staff, and visitors at the Marshall County courthouse. He concluded his career serving seven years as Evidence Custodian, a critical role responsible for maintaining the chain of custody for criminal evidence.
“Carl has served with the utmost professionalism and integrity,” officials said in announcing his retirement. “He will be greatly missed.”
Colleagues and community members expressed their gratitude for Lovett’s years of dedicated service and wished him well as he begins this new chapter of his life.
