
(PILOT OAK, Ky.) — A Puryear, Tennessee man died following a two-vehicle collision Saturday morning in the Pilot Oak community, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
Ronald Minor, 52, was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on KY 129 around 7:00 a.m. on November 1 when a Toyota Corolla pulled into his path at the intersection of KY 94 and KY 129.
According to the investigation, Jose Ruiz, 26, of Union City, Tennessee, had stopped at the posted stop sign while traveling eastbound on KY 94 West in a 2017 Toyota Corolla. As Ruiz attempted to make a left turn onto KY 94 West, his vehicle collided with Minor’s motorcycle in the intersection.
The impact ejected Minor from his motorcycle. He was initially transported by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Murray-Calloway County Hospital before being airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Ruiz did not report any injuries at the scene. A passenger in Ruiz’s vehicle, Diego Olague, 23, of Union City, Tennessee, was also uninjured.
Deputy Zac Smith led the investigation with assistance from Sgt. Ben Doran, Kentucky State Police, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, and the Sedalia and Cuba fire departments.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to the Minor family, saying in a statement: “The Sheriff’s Office wishes to offer our condolences to the Minor family in their loss.”
