
Three Men Face Felony Assault Charges
On Wednesday, November 5, Sheriff Brent White served three separate Lee Circuit Court indictment warrants throughout the day.
At 11:30 a.m., Cruz M. Bolton, 32, of Madisonville, was taken into custody on charges of second-degree assault and persistent felony offender in the first degree.
Less than an hour later at noon, Demarcus L. Bowie, 24, of Lexington, was arrested on identical charges of second-degree assault and persistent felony offender in the first degree.
At 12:25 p.m., Timothy J. Hall, 32, of Staffordsville, was served with a warrant charging him with third-degree assault and persistent felony offender in the second degree.
All three men are awaiting extradition back to Lee County.
Student Charged with Marijuana Possession
On Thursday, November 6, at 9:25 a.m., School Resource Officer Deputy Cory Jessup charged a 16-year-old female student with possession of marijuana at the high school. The charge came after school administration filed a complaint. The student was removed from school premises and released to her mother.
Drug Trafficking Suspect Arrested
On Friday, November 7, around 2:30 p.m., deputies served a Whitley Circuit Court bench warrant on Lanny Green, 54, of Lexington. Green was wanted for failure to appear in court on charges related to drug trafficking and manufacturing. He is awaiting extradition to Whitley County.
Deer Collision on I-24
On Saturday, November 8, around 9:25 p.m., Deputy Josh Travis responded to a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 24 near the 50-mile marker. According to the deputy’s investigation, Brittney N. Easley, 40, of Madison, Tennessee, was traveling eastbound when a deer entered her path. Easley was unable to avoid hitting the animal, resulting in severe damage to her 2020 Jeep Renegade. Easley sustained minor injuries but declined medical transport.
