(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — Calvert City Elementary School has once again earned the Family Friendly Schools Certification from the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, recognizing the school’s commitment to building strong partnerships between families and educators.
The certification acknowledges schools that have successfully demonstrated their ability to foster effective collaboration with families and the broader community. CCES was selected after a rigorous application and review process conducted by the Prichard Committee.
“Schools that achieve this certification show a strong commitment to actively involving families in their students’ education,” said Brigitte Blom, president and CEO of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. “Calvert City Elementary School has been both creative and enthusiastic in making families an essential part of their school community, helping to enhance the educational experience for all students. We are proud they have pursued this certification as a reflection of their dedication to their students and the broader community.”
The certification process involved a comprehensive evaluation by a multidisciplinary team of families, teachers, and administrators at CCES. Using a self-assessment tool, the team analyzed the school’s family engagement practices, identified opportunities for growth, and implemented new strategies to strengthen family involvement.
Applications for the Family Friendly Schools Certification are reviewed and scored by a working group comprising families, educators, and community organizations. The group’s mission focuses on promoting open communication, expanding learning opportunities, and encouraging shared decision-making throughout Kentucky’s education system.
