(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — A new holiday tradition is taking root in Calvert City, with organizers inviting all local families to participate in a community ornament display at Memorial Park.
The Calvert City Civic Center will host a family ornament decorating event on Monday, November 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. Residents can pick up one ornament per household and either decorate it on-site or take it home to personalize.
Completed ornaments must be returned by November 21 for display in Calvert City Memorial Park, where they will be showcased as part of the growing annual tradition.
“We want all of Calvert City’s homes represented! Whether a family of 12 or 1, please join in on this new tradition!” Calvert City Marketing Director Blair Travis said in announcing the event.
Participation is limited to Calvert City residents, and ornaments will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited quantities.
The initiative aims to create an expanding community display that represents the families who call Calvert City home. Each year, the collection of ornaments will grow, creating a brighter seasonal celebration.
Organizers credited Calvert City residents Brillo and Cherri for developing the concept and spearheading the inaugural event.
