(MURRAY, Ky.) – Murray State freshman Roman Domon has been named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week following an impressive performance at a tournament in the Cayman Islands.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound guard/forward from Amiens, France, led the Racers in scoring during the three-game stretch, averaging 13.3 points per game while shooting 45.8% from the field (11-of-24). Domon connected on four of his 13 three-point attempts and was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all 14 attempts.
The former BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque player reached double figures in all three games. He posted 11 points and six rebounds against Middle Tennessee, followed by 14 points and seven boards in a matchup with McNeese. Domon saved his best performance for the tournament finale, recording a career-high 15 points and eight rebounds in Murray State’s victory over George Washington.
The weekly honor marks a strong start to Domon’s collegiate career as he continues to adjust to the American game while providing consistent production for the Racers.
