
(MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky.) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has reported numerous arrests over recent weeks, including several drug-related charges and instances of driving under the influence with children present.
Recent DUI Arrests Involving Minors
In one of the more serious incidents, Cory Curtner, 44, of Benton was arrested on December 8 after deputies stopped his vehicle on US 641. Curtner reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was found to be under the influence of alcohol while his 7-year-old child was in the vehicle. He faces charges including operating a motor vehicle under the influence, improper lane usage, and possession of an open alcohol container.
Similarly, on December 4, Jody Pendleton, 36, of Benton was stopped on US 68E. During a search of her vehicle, deputies discovered controlled substances and marijuana roaches in the cup holder of her child’s car seat. She was charged with operating under the influence, possession of methamphetamine, wanton endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Drug Trafficking Cases
Shannon Key, 47, of Gilbertsville was arrested December 5 following a traffic stop on US 68W. She faces charges of first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michael Stewart, 39, of Calvert City was arrested December 4 when deputies located him with a stolen car hauler trailer. A subsequent search revealed controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Stewart was charged with first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal mischief.
Multiple Outstanding Warrants
Holly James, 34, of Murray was arrested December 6 after deputies responded to a disturbance on Tara Court. When located shortly after leaving the scene, James was found to have four active warrants from various county courts and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Resisting Arrest
Christina Pratt, 43, of Grand Rivers was arrested December 7 during a traffic stop on US 641 when an active Lyon County warrant was discovered. Deputies reported that Pratt refused to exit her vehicle and was also found to be under the influence. She faces charges including resisting arrest, operating under the influence, and disorderly conduct.
Additional Arrests
Other recent arrests include James Sellers, 34, of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, who was stopped December 5 on US 641 South while watching a movie and driving. Deputies also discovered he was operating without a court-ordered ignition interlock device and found fake urine in his vehicle, resulting in multiple charges including criminal simulation.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office continues its enforcement efforts across the county, with arrests spanning from warrant services to active investigations of drug trafficking and impaired driving.
