Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Reports Multiple Arrests, Juvenile Charged in Explosion

(LYON COUNTY, Ky.) — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has released details of several incidents and arrests that occurred over the past week, including charges filed against a juvenile in connection with an explosion and a multi-agency operation that resulted in a fugitive’s arrest.

Juvenile Charged in Eddy Creek Road Explosion

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Deputy Bobby Beeler charged a 17-year-old Fredonia juvenile with Criminal Mischief, Criminal Littering, and Disorderly Conduct related to an explosion incident that occurred on December 27 off Eddy Creek Road.

The juvenile voluntarily surrendered to authorities at approximately 5 p.m., accompanied by their parents. After processing, the juvenile was released back to parental custody per District Court order.

Multi-Agency Operation Leads to Fugitive Arrest, Drug Charges

A tip about a fugitive staying at a Kuttawa residence led to a significant arrest early Monday morning, December 29, 2025.

After receiving the complaint around 5 a.m., Sheriff’s Office personnel spent four hours confirming the identity of the suspect and verifying three active Kentucky warrants and one Illinois warrant for his arrest.

Sheriff Brent White obtained a search warrant from Lyon District Court, and at approximately 9:20 a.m., deputies from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Eddyville Police Department and Kentucky State Police, executed the warrant.

The fugitive, identified as Shane L. Jones, 52, of Paducah, was the sole occupant of the home. He initially refused verbal commands to exit a bedroom but surrendered after pepper spray was deployed.

A search of the residence uncovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Jones was arrested and charged with:

  • Contempt of Court/Resistance to Order (McCracken Circuit Court)
  • Bail Jumping (McCracken Circuit Court)
  • Failure to Appear (Marshall District Court)
  • Failure to Appear or Pay (Massac County, Illinois)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), 3rd or greater offense (Lyon County)
  • Possession of Marijuana (Lyon County)
  • Drug Paraphernalia Possession (Lyon County)

Jones was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Second Arrest Connected to Kuttawa Search

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Sheriff White charged Harold A. Hale, 56, of Kuttawa, in connection with items discovered in his possession during the previous day’s search. Hale voluntarily surrendered to authorities around 10:30 a.m. and faces charges including:

  • Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 3rd or greater offense
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Drug Paraphernalia Possession

Domestic Violence Assault Charge

Later on December 30, just before 11 p.m., Deputy Beeler served a court summons on Angela G. Mallory, 27, of Princeton. Mallory was charged with Assault, 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) Minor Injury stemming from a December 26 incident investigated by Deputy Shannon Oliver. She faces a January court date in Lyon District Court.

Traffic Collision on Days Inn Drive

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Deputy Beeler responded to a two-vehicle collision on Days Inn Drive in Kuttawa at 4 p.m.

According to the investigation, Steve A. Meredith, 62, of Kuttawa, was driving a 2014 GMC Sierra and attempted to make a left turn onto Days Inn Drive. Meredith failed to see an oncoming 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by Christina Pendley, 49, of Eddyville, and failed to yield the right-of-way. Both drivers reported no injuries.

Bench Warrant Arrest

On Friday, January 2, 2026, Rose Russell, 43, of Paducah, surrendered to the Sheriff’s Office around 3:15 p.m. on a Daviess District Court bench warrant for Non-Payment of Court Costs, Fees, or Fines. Russell was later released after posting a cash bond.
