(BENTON, Ky.)-Marshall County officials announced Tuesday that Brian Harper has been appointed Director of Marshall County Parks, bringing more than 30 years of regional leadership experience to the role.
Judge/Executive Kevin Spraggs and the Marshall County Fiscal Court made the selection following Harper’s recent retirement from the Marshall County School System.
Harper most recently served as Principal of the Marshall County Technical Center, where he oversaw a major building renovation and modernized the center’s curriculum to better prepare students for workforce entry.
“He has a strong understanding of the community and an innate ability to connect with people of all ages,” Spraggs said in announcing the appointment. Officials cited Harper’s vision for the park system and his extensive administrative experience as key factors in the decision.
Harper’s three decades of educational leadership and community involvement are expected to guide the county’s parks and recreation initiatives moving forward.
