(MURRAY, Ky.) – Murray State University women’s basketball extended its impressive winning streak to 12 games Sunday afternoon, overwhelming Drake University 95-67 at the CFSB Center. The victory marked a significant milestone for head coach Rechelle Turner, who earned her 150th career win.

The Racers dominated from start to finish, building a commanding 20-11 advantage after the opening quarter and never looking back. Murray State’s balanced offensive attack proved too much for the visiting Bulldogs, with four players scoring in double figures.

Junior Sharnecce Currie-Jelks delivered an outstanding performance in the paint, recording a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Her effort also included three blocks, marking her third game this season with at least 18 points, 17 rebounds, and three blocks – a statistical combination achieved by no other player in the nation more than once this season.

Haven Ford paced all scorers with 22 points, while Halli Poock contributed 19 points and distributed seven assists. The duo’s 41-point, 10-assist performance anchored Murray State’s offensive efficiency. Guard Keslyn Secrist added 15 points, seven rebounds, and a steal, rounding out the quartet of Racers who reached double figures.

Murray State’s defense stifled Drake throughout the contest, holding the Bulldogs to just 31.7 percent shooting from the floor. Drake received 11 points apiece from Anna Becker and Abbie Aalsma, but the visitors found themselves trailing by 31 points entering the final period and were unable to mount a comeback.

The Racers shot 50 percent from the field while maintaining their perfect conference record. Murray State and Belmont remain the only two undefeated teams in Missouri Valley Conference play. The victory also represents Murray State’s first win over Drake at home since joining the MVC.

With their 12-game winning streak now the sixth-longest active streak in the nation, the Racers continue to establish themselves as a force in conference competition.  Murray State returns to action on Thursday in Carbondale against the SIU Salukis at 6:00 p.m.
