String of Arrests Reported by Marshall County Sheriff’s Office

(BENTON, Ky.)-The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has released details of numerous arrests made during the first half of January 2026, involving charges ranging from DUI offenses to violent crimes and a high-speed chase with a stolen vehicle.

High-Speed Pursuit Ends with Multiple Charges

In one of the most serious incidents, Everette Tabor, 43, of Marion, Kentucky, was arrested on January 15 following a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 24. Deputies responded to a report of a stolen black Dodge Charger entering Marshall County from McCracken County. The vehicle had been reported stolen to Hopkinsville Police Department.

McCracken County Sheriff’s Office initially attempted to stop the vehicle, but Tabor allegedly failed to yield. Marshall County deputies took over the pursuit and attempted to box in the fleeing vehicle. According to authorities, Tabor used the stolen vehicle to strike a deputy’s patrol car before continuing to flee at speeds reaching at least 100 mph.

After Tabor exited the interstate, deputies utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT maneuver) to stop the vehicle and take him into custody. A search of the car revealed a glass smoking device containing methamphetamine and a syringe. Tabor also had an active parole violation warrant for absconding parole supervision, failure to cooperate with his parole officer, and failure to report a change of address. McCracken County Sheriff’s Office also charged him with receiving stolen property.

DUI and Traffic Arrests

Richard Mathis, 36, of Hardin, was arrested on January 17 when his vehicle was stopped on US 68E in Hardin. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense.

Maxwell Schell, 32, of Grand Junction, Colorado, was arrested on January 17 after his vehicle was stopped on US 641N in Marshall County. Schell was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (first offense), possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and other traffic offenses.

Jennifer Heflin, 51, of Benton, was arrested on January 16 following a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 69 in Marshall County. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substances, driving on a DUI suspended license, failure to produce insurance, operating a motor vehicle without the required interlock device, and improper lane usage. Heflin was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Shane Thompson, 42, of Hardin, was arrested on January 16 after deputies received a report of a male passed out in a vehicle at a gas station parking lot. Thompson was found to be under the influence and had a syringe containing methamphetamine in his pocket. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substances and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Darren Lipp, 62, of Gilbertsville, was arrested on January 10 when his vehicle was stopped on US 641 in Marshall County. Lipp was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, and other traffic offenses.

William Lantz, 57, of Grand Rivers, was arrested on January 2 when his vehicle was stopped on Interstate 69 in Marshall County. Lantz was charged with driving with a DUI suspended license.

Drug-Related Arrests

Peyton Grundy, 26, of Calvert City, was arrested on January 14 when the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped on KY 95 in Marshall County. Grundy was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was charged with possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charles Turley, 60, of Benton, was arrested on January 11 on a bench warrant issued out of Calloway District Court for failure to appear in court. While serving the arrest warrant, deputies observed illegal drugs at his residence and applied for a search warrant. Turley was then charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Quinton Mouser, 22, of Gilbertsville, was arrested on January 4 on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for contempt of court. While serving the arrest warrant, illegal drugs were observed in the residence and a search warrant was obtained. Mouser was then charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Violent Crime and Weapons Arrests

Jason Trisler, 44, of Fisher, Indiana, was transported back to Kentucky from Indiana on January 16 and served an indictment warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for rape first degree.

Demond Crumbaugh, 22, of Paducah, was arrested on January 7 after deputies received a report that a male had pointed a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident. Deputies located Crumbaugh, who reportedly told them he wanted the other driver to know “not to mess with him.” Crumbaugh also had a suspended license. He was charged with wanton endangerment first degree and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.

Public Intoxication Arrests

Daniel Hahn, 42, of Clarksville, Tennessee, was arrested on January 14 when deputies responded to Atlas Lane in reference to a disturbance. Hahn was determined to be manifestly under the influence and was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Gilbert Lee, 33, of Prescott, Arizona, was arrested on January 13 when deputies responded to a business on Highway 62 in Marshall County due to a subject acting suspicious. An employee reported that Lee had entered a restricted area of the business. Deputies located Lee and found him to be under the influence and still in the restricted area. He was charged with public intoxication and criminal trespassing third degree.

Jason Hess, 52, of New Concord, was arrested on January 9 when deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a business on US 62. Hess was found to be manifestly under the influence of alcohol and was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Property Crime Arrests

Anthony Regan, 58, of Dexter, was arrested on January 6 and served a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief first degree.

James M. Courtney, 65, of Centralia, Illinois, was arrested on January 9 when deputies responded to a report of a suspicious male walking around a residence on US 62. Deputies located Courtney walking a short distance from the residence. He was in possession of a pry bar, rubber gloves, and a mask. Courtney was charged with criminal trespass third degree, attempted criminal trespassing first degree, possession of marijuana, and possession of burglary tools.

Warrant Service Arrests

Christopher Garner, 50, of Pine Knot (and also listed as Calvert City in a separate arrest), was served bench warrants on two separate occasions. On January 19, he was served bench warrants issued out of McCreary County District Court for failure to pay fines and failure to appear in court. On January 16, he was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for failure to appear in court.

Ashley Williams, 34, of Hardin, was arrested on January 14 on three bench warrants issued out of McCracken Circuit Court for contempt of court.

Kacy Sigrist, 46, of Paducah, was arrested on January 13 on a bench warrant issued out of Graves District Court for contempt of court.

Victor Fuentes, 49, of Florida, was identified on January 12 while lodged in the Marshall County Jail as having outstanding warrants from Palm Beach County, Florida. Fuentes was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Toby May, 47, of Gilbertsville, was arrested on January 10 on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for probation violation.

Johnathan Durham, 28, of Madisonville, was arrested on January 9 when the vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped on Carroll Drive in Marshall County. Durham was found to have an outstanding bench warrant issued out of Hopkins District Court for contempt of court.

Chase Vied, 21, of Benton, was arrested on January 9 on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO (Emergency Protective Order/Domestic Violence Order).

Rebecca Mitchell, 33, of Benton, was arrested on January 9 on a Marshall County bench warrant for failure to appear. Mitchell was also served two additional bench warrants issued out of Calloway District Court for failure to appear in court.

Casey Kohlfeld, 35, of Desoto, Missouri, was arrested on January 8 on a bench warrant issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for probation violation.

Richard Lowe, 39, of an unknown address in Kentucky, was arrested on January 7 when he came to the Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in to be served his outstanding parole violation warrant issued out of Henderson. Lowe also had an outstanding bench warrant issued out of Henderson for failure to appear.

Ethan Hicks, 30, of Calvert City, was served an arrest warrant on January 4 issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for probation violation.

Gavin Oreilly, 20, of Benton, was served a bench warrant on January 4 issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for contempt of court.

The arrests represent a wide range of offenses and demonstrate ongoing law enforcement activity throughout Marshall County during the early weeks of 2026.
