(PADUCAH, Ky.) (February 2, 2026) – Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center will participate in the annual Shop & Share donation drive on Saturday, February 7, with volunteers stationed at Kroger locations in Murray and Paducah from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shop & Share is a one-day statewide event that invites grocery shoppers to purchase an extra item for their local domestic violence program while completing their regular shopping. The initiative is championed by Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear and supported by Kroger and other retailers across the Commonwealth.

Merryman House serves as western Kentucky’s domestic violence program and emergency shelter, providing critical services to survivors of intimate partner violence and their children.

Since its inception in 2008 under former First Lady Jane Beshear, Shop & Share has generated more than $6 million in donated goods and monetary contributions for domestic violence programs statewide. The 2025 event alone brought in over $10,000 in groceries and monetary donations for Merryman House.

“Shop & Share brings in thousands of dollars worth of food, which is thousands that can help remove other barriers for survivors,” said the MHDCC Assistant Director of Mission Advancement. “Every tuna pouch or pack of crackers really does make an impact, so if you’re out shopping on Saturday, please come and share an item (or two) with a survivor.”

Mary Foley, MHDCC Executive Director, emphasized the event’s significance: “Items donated during the event go directly to survivors and help reduce domestic violence programs’ routine operating costs, freeing up limited funding for other life-saving services.”

Volunteers will be available at participating Kroger stores to provide shoppers with a list of most-needed items.
