(DRAFFENVILLE, Ky./Mt. Vernon, Ill.) — The Marshall County Marshals basketball team experienced a weekend of highs and lows, claiming a dominant home victory before falling in a close road contest.
The Marshals cruised past Hopkins County Central 77-51 on Friday, February 13, at Reed Conder Gymnasium, showcasing their offensive firepower in front of the home crowd.
However, Marshall County couldn’t maintain that momentum on Saturday, dropping a tight 64-59 decision to the Rams of Mount Vernon, Illinois, in an away matchup.
The split leaves the Marshals with an 18-7 record on the season as they enter the final stretch of their schedule.
Marshall County will return home Thursday night to face Graves County in what promises to be an exciting First Region showdown. The game is part of a girls (6 p.m.)/boys (7:30 p.m.) doubleheader at Reed Conder Gymnasium.
