
(MURRAY, Ky.) — Marshall County’s boys basketball team wasted no time making a statement in the Mercy Health Boys First Region Basketball Tournament, dismantling Fulton County 98-35 in the opening round Wednesday night behind a balanced scoring attack and red-hot shooting from beyond the arc.
The Marshals shot a blistering 66.1% from the field and connected on 17-of-28 three-point attempts — a remarkable 60.7% clip from deep — as 13 players saw action and 11 found the scoring column in the lopsided victory.
Langhi, Moore Lead the Way
Junior Matthew Langhi paced Marshall County with 24 points, going 9-of-13 from the field including three triples. Sophomore Jax Moore was nearly as efficient, pouring in 21 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting night while drilling all six of his three-point attempts.
Senior Neyland Jezik added 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting with three made threes, while freshman Braxton Burnham contributed a solid 11 points, hitting 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Balanced Attack, Deep Bench
Senior Ryan Stokes chipped in 6 points and led the team with 6 rebounds. Kaden Mohler added 4 boards, and Carson Lovett and Kam Brown each contributed 3 rebounds while scoring 4 points apiece.
Freshman Nate Terry was a bright spot off the bench, going a perfect 1-of-1 from three and 1-of-1 from the free throw line for 4 points to go with 2 rebounds.
By the Numbers
The Marshals’ team shooting numbers were impressive across the board: 66.1% overall, 60.7% from three, and 77.8% from the free throw line. Marshall County outrebounded Fulton County with 36 total boards.

Marshall County advances to face McCracken County in the First Region semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. at CFSB Center on the campus of Murray State University. The Marshals will look to carry their tournament momentum into what figures to be a stiffer test against the Mustangs.
