
(MURRAY, Ky.) (March 12, 2026) — On March 10, 2026, at approximately 10:39 p.m., the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Electronic Crime Branch arrested James Kylen Johnson, 32, on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Mr. Johnson was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in a search warrant at a residence in Murray on March 10, 2026. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Mr. Johnson is currently charged with four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old. These charges are Class-B felonies, punishable by ten to twenty years in prison. Mr. Johnson was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.
