Cross-County Pursuit Ends in Arrest After Spike Strips Deployed

(CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky.) — A multi-county police pursuit came to a halt Tuesday evening after deputies successfully deflated a fleeing vehicle’s tires near the Graves County line.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on March 18, 2026, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office contacted Calloway County E-911 to report they were actively pursuing a vehicle that had crossed into Calloway County near Hazel. Calloway County deputies assumed control of the chase, which wound through Murray before continuing north on Highway 121.

Deputies deployed spike strips just past the Graves County line, deflating the vehicle’s front tires and forcing the driver to stop. No serious injuries were reported.

The driver, identified as Harry T. Moody, 78, of Paris, Tennessee, was taken into custody and transported to the Calloway County Jail. Moody faces the following charges:

  • Fleeing/Evading Police, 1st Degree (Class C Felony)
  • Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Various Traffic Offenses
