
(PADUCAH, Ky.) — A Fredonia man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges after a McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy discovered methamphetamine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and other narcotics during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Austin Rushing pulled over a 2017 Ford F-150 on North 3rd Street in Paducah at approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 8, 2026, after observing a moving violation.
During the stop, K9 Bobi was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the truck turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia. Deputies also seized $1,048 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
The driver, Thomas J. Owen, 46, of Fredonia, was taken into custody and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Owen faces the following charges:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd or Greater Offense (2 grams or more of methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree, 2nd or Greater Offense (hallucinogen)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Failure to Use a Turn Signal
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
