Martha Ellen Washburn, 92, of Benton passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
She was born on Thursday, July 6, 1933 in Marshall County to the late Mary Ethel Jones Mathis and the late Oran Lee Mathis. Martha worked at Marshall County Hospital as a Ward Clerk and Nursing Assistant. Martha would escape to the beach as much as she could; she yearned to feel the warm sun on her face. She greatly enjoyed her time spent at Calvert City Convalescent Center, Martha looked forward to Bingo nights every week.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Teresa Davis of Benton; three grandchildren, Tera Engler, Nadja Davis, and Barrett Washburn, all of Benton; as well as four great-grandchildren; Briley Engler, Quinn Engler, Braxton Lima, and Jett York.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Darrell Washburn; and one sister, Nora Agnes Leach.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Hamlet Cemetery in Benton, Kentucky with Rev. Glen Cope officiating.
