(PADUCAH, Ky.) — An 18-year-old Paducah man is facing multiple sex offense charges following an investigation that began with a tip to school officials late last year.
Landon Player was arrested Wednesday, February 5, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, second-degree sexual abuse, and two counts of distribution of obscene matter to minors.
The investigation was launched in December 2025 after the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by McCracken County Public Schools regarding alleged inappropriate activity involving a student. School Resource Officers reported that Player, then an 18-year-old student, had shown pictures of a sexual nature to other students and was possibly in a relationship with a middle school student.
According to authorities, all alleged criminal activity occurred off school property. However, students felt comfortable reporting the incidents to their school resource officer, which led to the initial tip.
Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation over the following weeks before securing the arrest warrant.
Player was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. The charges remain allegations, and Player is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the case, citing the ongoing investigation and the involvement of a minor.
