(PADUCAH, Ky.)- On Sunday April 5, 2026, deputies and detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Glenn Street in Lone Oak. At approximately 9:30 AM, Paducah 911 notified deputies of a collision between a passenger car and a motorcycle.
Upon arriving at Glenn Street, deputies located Melvin Gonzales with what appeared to be serious, but non-incapacitating injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service then transported to an out of state hospital.
Preliminary investigation determined that Tavionna Edwards, Gonzales’ girlfriend, has chased after Gonzales with a knife. Eventually, Edwards intentionally ran her vehicle into him while he was on a motorcycle, propelling him into an apartment door.
Nineteen-year-old Tavionna Edwards was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, and Menacing. She was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. A photograph of Edwards is attached to this press release.
The MCSO was assisted by Mercy Regional Ambulance, Paducah Police Department, and Kentucky State Police.
