Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Reports Multiple Arrests

(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has reported a series of arrests spanning from late March into mid-April 2026, involving charges ranging from bench warrants to assault and impaired driving.

On March 30, Ryan Jarvis, 32, of Calvert City was taken into custody on a bench warrant from Hopkins District Court for failure to appear. The following day, deputies responded to a disturbance on Scale Road where James Staples, 65, of Benton was arrested on a fourth-degree assault charge. Also on March 31, Dustin Frost, 37, of Gilbertsville was stopped on Main Street in Benton and charged with operating a vehicle on a suspended license.

A more serious incident unfolded March 31 on Big Bear Highway, where Maurice Daniels, 32, of Benton was arrested after deputies determined he had assaulted a female at a residence. When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Daniels resisted, injuring Deputy Howell, who required medical treatment. Daniels was charged with fourth-degree assault, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, and second-degree strangulation. Authorities also discovered he was wanted in Colorado, adding a fugitive from justice charge.

On April 1, detectives located Lindsy Griffith, 33, of Grand Rivers driving a stolen vehicle in the Pirates Cove area. Griffith was charged with receiving stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000 and first-degree possession of methamphetamine. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Livingston County.

April 2 brought multiple arrests, including Mary Gordon, 69, of Benton, who was taken into custody after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Marshall County Hospital parking lot. Gordon allegedly assaulted a responding deputy and was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. That same day, Michael Hobbs, 63, of Scotts Hill, Tenn., was served an arrest warrant from Marshall Circuit Court for failure to appear, and Frank Linville, 44, of Benton was arrested on two bench warrants for contempt of court.

Tyler Thorn, 26, of Gilbertsville was arrested April 3 on a bench warrant from Marshall District Court for failure to appear.

On April 5, deputies responding to a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 24 arrested James Ermalovich, 67, of Huntington, W.Va. Ermalovich, who allegedly appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances at the time of the crash, was charged with DUI, operating on a suspended license, failure to maintain insurance, first-degree possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Patton, 63, of Gilbertsville was arrested April 6 on a Hopkins County bench warrant for failure to appear, followed by Adam Turner, 33, of Dawson Springs on April 9 on a similar warrant from Hopkins County.

On April 10, Terry Blades, 32, of Calvert City was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing after being found at a residence on Patriot Street from which he had previously been banned. That same day, Angela Hunerkoch, 50, of Murray was arrested on a Marshall County Court bench warrant for failure to appear.

Two traffic stops on April 11 led to arrests. Joshua Sharp, 34, of Paducah was stopped on US 68 West and charged with speeding 26 mph over the limit, careless driving, and second-offense DUI. John Ordunez, 38, of Hardin was stopped on Interstate 69 and charged with driving on a suspended license and marijuana possession.

The most recent arrest in the report came April 12, when Robert Gaines, 33, of Calvert City was stopped on US 62 and charged with third-offense DUI, operating on a suspended license, and improper lane usage.
